FAUX "ANTIQUE COPPER" VENT-A-HOOD & HONEY TONED KITCHEN CABINETS

This week, I'm featuring kitchen cabinets and vent-a-hood that I painted a couple of years ago.
This post has been one of the most viewed on my blog.

This vent-a-hood was designed and built out of plywood and I painted it an "antique copper" faux finish.
The kitchen cabinets are a distressed honey tone glazed finish.
Here is a link that that post:

THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY BLOG ~ I'LL BE BACK SOON!

I love my blog and love sharing my projects with you.

But, I've been on back to back jobs and am a bit tired and just don't feel like writing a big post right now.
Usually I have breaks between jobs, but I've painted cabinets in two large kitchens, a room full of furniture and a couple of other small jobs.
So often, my clients start early getting their home projects done before the holidays and I think that is happening right now.
I'm tired, but I love what I do.
I'm working on a book and some ebooks so I can show you how to do these different finishes.  But, it will be a while before I get everything together.  Actually, I'm still learning how to create an ebook.  I will love sharing with you, though.
Anyway, I will be back soon and share these newest paint projects with you.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

PAINTING A BASEBALL WALL & TUTORIAL

A while back, I was asked to paint a baseball wall for a baby boy's room.
Since it's summer and the kids are home, I thought you might like to see this post and tutorial again.

TURN A SMALL CHEST INTO A REALLY COOL BLACK KITCHEN ISLAND

My client showed me a little black chest in her hallway and told me she wanted to turn it into a kitchen island.
It didn't have this granite on it, just a black top.

She had the granite made for the little chest.
Of course, they moved the chest into the kitchen before they put the granite on it.
Oh my goodness!!
That granite was so heavy I couldn't even move it a tiny bit.

Then, she had a carpenter add these little feet to raise it to a comfortable height for working in the kitchen.
She said she would be rolling dough on it.
In this picture, it looks messed up because I had just sanded it.

The back was very plain and she had the carpenter attach this trim and board, so it would stand out a little and give it more dimension.
These trim pieces really, really made it look special.
Then, she called me and I went over to paint it, just solid black.

The shape, the added feet and trim made it look so sharp in her kitchen.
Isn't it a cool piece, now??
Go find that piece of furniture in the garage that you can't find anybody to give it to and do something special to it.
Have fun designing your new piece!
