PAINTING RED & DISTRESSING A SMALL SOFA TABLE

This client is bulding a new home.
I've been asked to paint several pieces of their very nice older furniture to match the decor in the new home.
This table was a dark forest green and my client showed me a sample of how she wanted it painted.
I always appreciate samples or pictures, so I'll know exactly what they're envisioning.

I do enjoy painting and distressing furniture to look old and worn.
There's always a lot of scraping, sanding and staining/glazing.

This is how it looked when it was delivered to my house.
The new house won't be finished for a while so the several pieces of furniture that I painted were picked up yesterday for storage.  So ,they weren't expecting me to hold on to it until the house is  completed!

  9. You did an incredible job distressing that table. It looks like a real primitive from 100 years ago. Love the aged red with all the wonderful patina. As usual, Lynda, I love your work.
