PAINTING TWO CLOCKS: ONE IS A RUST SPECIAL FINISH & THE BIRD CLOCK IS CRACKLED & DISTRESSED

This is a new clock that I refinished and painted with the "rust" products.  I love working with "rust", but I can never know for sure how it's going to turn out.  So, I just keep working it until I'm happy with the look.  You can paint "rust" all over a piece or you can just apply it in certain small or large areas.  I do love the way this piece turned out, though.

And, this is a new clock that I painted, crackled and distressed.  I found this iron bird and screwed it to the top of the clock.  I really like the way this turned out, too.  I usually do keep working on a piece until it turns out the way I want it to.  Sometimes, I have to re-do a couple of times until it's right.  I don't mind re-doing because adding more and more paint just makes it look layered and older.  Oh, and I added that little fleur de lis at the bottom to cover a hole.

The rust clock and my distressed iron bird clock have both been sold, but I just wanted to share the finishes with you.

    1. Thank you so much!! If you get the rust products, you can do your own. I bet it would turn out really great. You almost can't go wrong with the rust finish.
