PAINTING A TREE, BIRD NEST & FAIRIES AROUND MADI'S ROOM

This is the second time I painted Madi's room.  I think she was five and she loved pink!  She and her mom knew what they wanted and how they wanted to decorate.  So, I painted her walls pink.  And, in one corner of her room, I painted a large pink crepe myrtle tree and a bird's nest in the tree.

Then, I painted her ceiling blue and added clouds and birds.

Over her bed, I painted an arch and a big bow.  I painted sparkles on the bow and arch, but you can't see the sparkles in my photos.  And, I painted a small arch over her dresser.

Then, I painted two fairies for Madi.  One was next to the arch over her bed, sprinkling fairy dust with her wand.  The other one was across the room over her window.  She was sprinkling fairy dust, too, with lots of sparkles.  I painted sparkles on all of the artwork, even the pink birds.

This room was sooo cute and happy!
But, a few years later, I had to paint over it for her next, big girl room.
I've had to paint over a lot of my artwork and thank goodness I take lots of photos.
It's always fun to go back and look at older photos.

  4. So sad when a little one outgrows the artwork in her room. I am sure the fairies are still watching over her. At least you had the photographs!

  16. That was nice. My sister and I did a tree in her family room also. We used stencils but I see that you painted freehand. Nice work. If you want to see the tree my sister and I painted with birds in it. Linda
