Kim was building a new home and had me painting lots of furniture, cabinets and ceilings with special finishes.
This old chest was green with a black top. I primed and painted it to an old, distressed finish. I painted the trim a dark coffee brown for contrast.
Kim had everything planned out, all of her colors and a place for everything! This chest was going in one of her guest baths. When I finished the painting, it was installed and the granite guys put a beautiful dark granite and sink on it. (I have photos of that, somewhere! and can't find it. I'll post it, later.)
I love doing old finishes! And, I love seeing all the furniture, cabinets and ceilings that I've done, with everything in it's place...furniture, mirrors, accents...the finished product. It's a very rewarding feeling. ALWAYS a LOT of work, but very rewarding!!
It's lovely! I would be delighted for you to link to Potpourri Friday, in progress!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful job!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you finished this piece ( I just did a post on using furniture for bathroom vanities so this really grabbed me!!! )
