A GIFT FOR MONICA & KADE & MY SCISSOR TAILED FLYCATCHER MURAL

A couple of years ago, I was working for Monica and Kade.  They are devout catholics and we were talking about St. Anthony de Padua.

Our conversation inspired me to make this painting.  I textured the background and then drew and cut out of wood, St. Anthony and Baby Jesus.  Painted with metallic gold and bronze and aged/antiqued it.
Today, I went by Monica's and gave her this painting as a gift.  It made her very happy and they're going to hang it over their fireplace in the middle of the room.
Monica is very special to me and I knew she would really appreciate this particular painting.

When they drive in the country, they always see scissor tailed flycatchers and they asked me to paint a sky and these birds in the skylight in their master bath.  As the sun and clouds move, it makes the mural very interesting.  It was fun seeing it again.  The ceiling is actually white, not black.  But, the black kind of nicely highlights the mural in this photo.
I have painted in almost every room in their home and it's always nice to go back and visit my work.

PAINTING A SPECIAL FINISH ON BEDROOM FURNITURE FOR A GUEST HOUSE

Finally!!  I have finished painting this furniture.  There are sooo many pieces!  Those posts and huge finials hold a canopy over the bed.

The bench cushion will be recovered.  That mirror goes over the dresser.
Surprise, surprise!  what you might think is wrought iron is plywood cut and painted to look like wrought iron.

This furniture was in a girl's room.  That room has been redecorated and this furniture is going into a guest house that is being built.
Saundra Wright is the designer for this job.  She gave me a print out of fauxed paneling and asked me to paint this furniture similar to the finish on the paneling.

This was the finish, before I painted it.  This furniture is huge, heavy and MADE IN THE USA!  I think the movers will be picking it up in a couple of days and I'll be so very glad to have my house back!!  I painted in the dining room and living room.  My dining room furniture is stacked in another room.  I do this often, and love my job.  But, it's so nice to see my home put back together, again.

PAINTING & DISTRESSING FURNITURE FOR BEBE

PAINTING & DISTRESSING FURNITURE FOR BEBE

Today, I finished painting and distressing this huge cabinet.  When Bebe found the base, she loved it.  It was painted white.  She needed a cabinet on top, so they found these stained glass windows and had the cabinet built.
The two pieces make one very large piece and look so, so nice in her dining room.
I love this chartreusey green!
She might ask me to come back and paint a rust finish on her chandelier.
And, she wanted me to distress and paint her dining room chairs and table a soft yellow green.  She got this furniture back in the 70's and wanted it to be a different color.  Bebe chose this beautiful fabric and had the chair cushions recovered.
She loves color and all of these colors look really nice together.
Isn't that fabric luscious!!
She loves camels and these two are the base for her glass coffee table in her living room.  They were brown carved wood and she asked me to paint and distress these, too.
I can hardly wait to go back and see everything after she's finished decorating.

LOVED WORKING WITH YOU, BEBE!
