PAINTING A SPECIAL FINISH ON BEDROOM FURNITURE FOR A GUEST HOUSE

Finally!!  I have finished painting this furniture.  There are sooo many pieces!  Those posts and huge finials hold a canopy over the bed.

The bench cushion will be recovered.  That mirror goes over the dresser.
Surprise, surprise!  what you might think is wrought iron is plywood cut and painted to look like wrought iron.

This furniture was in a girl's room.  That room has been redecorated and this furniture is going into a guest house that is being built.
Saundra Wright is the designer for this job.  She gave me a print out of fauxed paneling and asked me to paint this furniture similar to the finish on the paneling.

This was the finish, before I painted it.  This furniture is huge, heavy and MADE IN THE USA!  I think the movers will be picking it up in a couple of days and I'll be so very glad to have my house back!!  I painted in the dining room and living room.  My dining room furniture is stacked in another room.  I do this often, and love my job.  But, it's so nice to see my home put back together, again.

  2. That had to be a massive undertaking to do all those pieces. I agree with Dianne, you are a dedicated artist to do all of that in your own home. As a dealer of vintage furniture, it always pleases me to find pieces that were manufactured here in the U.S. I think it makes them extra special.

    1. I love my work and am very glad to work in my home. My studio is so crowded with paint, etc. that I can't even get furniture in there, right now. But soon, I will have it cleaned up with new shelves, etc. I'm really looking forward to that day!!

    1. Yes, I was very, very glad when it was picked up. I was able to put my living room back together. But, had to wait for the current job of painting table and chairs before I can put my dining room back together. When everything is finally picked up and my house is back together, I'm always very happy and it's all kind of like new again.
