PAINTING & DISTRESSING FURNITURE FOR BEBE

PAINTING & DISTRESSING FURNITURE FOR BEBE

Today, I finished painting and distressing this huge cabinet.  When Bebe found the base, she loved it.  It was painted white.  She needed a cabinet on top, so they found these stained glass windows and had the cabinet built.
The two pieces make one very large piece and look so, so nice in her dining room.
I love this chartreusey green!
She might ask me to come back and paint a rust finish on her chandelier.
And, she wanted me to distress and paint her dining room chairs and table a soft yellow green.  She got this furniture back in the 70's and wanted it to be a different color.  Bebe chose this beautiful fabric and had the chair cushions recovered.
She loves color and all of these colors look really nice together.
Isn't that fabric luscious!!
She loves camels and these two are the base for her glass coffee table in her living room.  They were brown carved wood and she asked me to paint and distress these, too.
I can hardly wait to go back and see everything after she's finished decorating.

LOVED WORKING WITH YOU, BEBE!

  1. I love those camels. Is that a wash you did or a glaze? I love your work, Lynda. That cabinet must have been a huge undertaking.

    1. Hi Maggie, thank you and oh yes, that cabinet was a huge undertaking! I painted the camels brown, painted the blue and rubbed it off with a rag while it was wet.

    2. Thank you! The base color is Devoe "Chrome Primrose". Then, I mixed a darker green glaze to paint over that. Then I used a bit of stain to age it and sealed it. I do want to say that the "Chrome Primrose" is "to die for" all by itself. It's a wonderful green. So, if you don't want to do the other steps, you don't have to, if you love the green like I did. I will link to your party.
