OUTDOORS HOST SAID "LEAVE THE FAWNS ALONE"!!

This morning, I was listening to the outdoors radio show and the host said to
LEAVE THE FAWNS ALONE!!
This is the time of year that the fawns have been and are being born.
Their mommies leave them to go a short distance to eat and they are nearby watching their babies.  He said the wildlife rescuers said people are bringing in fawns, thinking they're abandoned.  Unless the tiny fawns are injured or sick, leave them alone.  Also, you are taking a risk of the doe attacking you, protecting her baby.
I haven't gotten to see one, yet.  I keep looking, though.
Hope you are having wonderful spring weather!

A MAKEOVER FOR ELSA'S KITCHEN ISLAND~DESIGNING & PAINTING A SPECIAL FINISH

A MAKEOVER FOR ELSA'S KITCHEN ISLAND~DESIGNING & PAINTING A SPECIAL FINISH

My client asked me to help her with her kitchen island.
It was plain and she wanted it to be fancy and look like a piece of furniture.
She asked me to pick out the trim and paint colors to go with her granite
and the rest of her very large kitchen.
It was fun deciding how to dress up her island.  She showed me a picture of an island that I had painted and told me she really likes rope trim.  So, I showed her a sample of a cabinet door that I had painted and brought over the wood trim that I had picked out.
She approved!
So, I asked a carpenter to attach the trim pieces and he did a great job.
This is how her island looked BEFORE.
Notice the white switch plate and cover.
Me getting the special paint finish started.
This is sweet little Ellie.  She's smiling.
She was so cute and playful and she  minded her mommy when she told her to get away from the paint.
I picked out the knobs and my client approved.
They look really, really good on the doors and drawers.
She loves her new island!!
It happened to be my birthday and she surprised me with a birthday cake.
I LOVE chocolate!!
Thank you so much, Elsa!!

PAINTING AN OLD WATER DAMAGED NIGHTSTAND TO A BLACK DISTRESSED FINISH

My client is redecorating her guest bedroom and asked me to paint this nightstand.
She decorates well with black and wanted it to be black, too.

She said just a little bit distressed.

It was brown stained before and had some water damage on the top.
I had to lightly sand with my orbital sander and then a little light sanding  by hand to get the top as smooth as I could.

I love the way it turned out.
I think I'm going back to paint the guest bedroom walls, so I will get to see it in place.  That's always fun for me.
She's picking it up in a little while and I'm eager for her to see the transformation from the older, water damaged piece of furniture.
 It looks brand new, again!!

MY PAINTER'S TAPE ORGANIZER

Earlier, I told you I was a sandpaper hoarder.
Well, I don't think I'm a painter's tape hoarder, but I do have a lot of rolls.  If I forget to take tape to a job, I just buy another roll, so I have a lot of tape!
The rolls of tape were stacked here and there in my studio.
So, when I was cleaning out a shelf in the garage,

I found some old towel racks.
I was going to get rid of them and then I realized I could use this one for organizing my tape.

It is really handy and so nice to have all of my tape in one place.
So glad I didn't get rid of this one!

MIRROR IN FRONT OF A MIRROR IN A BEAUTIFUL GUEST BATHROOM

Recently, my client asked me to paint her bathroom cabinets.
She just wanted to freshen up the paint.
No special finish, just repaint to the same off white as before.

Just a regular paint job.
But, what I wanted you to see is how beautifully she decorated her counter top.
A lot of my clients are replacing their huge bath mirrors with smaller mirrors.  I still love the large mirrors.
You can always dress them up with easy to install molding.

Look how this client placed a large framed mirror in front of her huge wall to wall mirror.
She just leaned it against the big mirror and it looks so elegant and beautiful.
Her walls are a fauxed copper technique that she and a friend painted.
It looks very, very nice!

These are the cabinets that I painted.
Her handles are bronze and look so nice with the other colors in her bathroom.

My mess!!
But, it looked good when I left.
