PAINTING & UPDATING STAINED WOOD CABINETS FOR JESSICA & SAM
Jessica and Sam bought an older home in a wonderful old neighborhood. They're doing a lot of decorating to make their home young, again.
The rooms are very large and open.
The dining room and family room cabinets were stained wood. They asked me to paint them.
Jessie chose a dark navy and it looks soooo good with their red dining chairs.
The main floor is stained concrete and Jessie wants to paint it, too.
This gray is a primer I asked the paint store to tint for me. The gray is a good undercoat for navy. Most primers can be tinted a little bit. It would take too much of the tint pigment to get it really dark and that much tint would have a problem drying.
They removed the backsplash of mirror.
And, they purchased some really nice Mexican tile when they were in Mexico to put on the backsplash. When I went back to take pictures, they had (temporarily) put the mirror back and I think it looks really, really good. Not sure if they will use tile or mirror.
Isn't this great!
I love that Jessie wanted the navy.
She has a lot of beautiful antique china from a grandmother or two.
And, the white dishes really pop now against the navy color.
This is Henry. The best doggie!! He's a rescue.
He was found on an expressway in another city. It was that time of year and the fireworks probably frightened him and he got out of his yard. They tried find his owner and kept checking the newspapers. He didn't have a microchip, either.
After a while, they decided Henry belonged to them.
Sam said he's microchipped now and he's OUR'S!!
Lucky them!
The family room cabinets in the corner were stained wood, too. Painting them white really extended that wall and the room seems much bigger, now.
Thank you Jessie and Sam!
And, Henry!
